M. J. Ashitsa

I'm M. J. Ashitsa. For a long time I wanted to see my artwork on physical things — it started with bandanas and scarves. I paint to quiet my mind, and somewhere along the way I found a whole industry where that painting could become something real. Watching a sketch repeat into a seamless pattern still feels like one step closer to my art existing outside the sketchbook — out in the world, on something tangible. But it's not really about the object. It's the quiet part before it: the stylus gliding across the screen, a brush moving across a watercolour sheet, getting lost in it, not thinking about where it ends up. That's the part I keep coming back to, the quiet, almost sacred moment of making something. If what comes out of it gives someone else a small hit of joy when they hold it, that's the whole point.
